Joyce Thierer of Ride Into History

Joyce Thierer, PhD., is a history professor at Emporia State University. She is also co-owner and actor in Ride Into History, which provided a historical reenactment, shown above, during the 2006 Symphony in the Flint Hills. Here she draws her audience into the life of the 1804 figure ”Grower”.

This photo was taken in June but reworked today by layering in two other photos for atmosphere.

  1. Dave…This is great picture of Joyce. She’s such a delight to be with and you can read that in this photo, which is museum quality, imo. She needs to get this blown up and hung by her front door. Stories would just fall out of the frame.

  2. Dave, This is exquisite! Quelle artiste! Joyce is blushing with pleasure. You definitely captured the spirit/s. Thanks to Peg for letting us know. May we/Ride into History buy the right to use it? Need not be exclusive. Ann

  3. I’m glad you both like it. Ride’s a wonderful program so I’m pleased you may find the photo useful in promoting it. We’ll work something out.
