Topeka State Capitol
I like the colors and lines of this one, though it doesn’t show off this magnificent building at its best.
A “best of” slideshow is now available in the menu on the right, including some of the photographer’s favorites from the past five months. “Casual Images” also includes a slideshow feature.

Lawrence, on Massachusetts Street
Downtown Lawrence is full of life, texture and color. One of the prettiest storefronts is this one.

The presentation of colors during the Harford Days parade

I look at a lot of other photographer’s work on the Internet and a style the affects me most comes from the big city street photographers, the ones with a raw, gritty style in black and white tones. It’s more rock’n roll than country, has an emphasis on the energy and dynamics of the city with little thought to making “pretty pictures”. A great example is Shrued by Johnathan Greenwald. I was wondering what the results would be if if a small town Kansas event was photographed in New York street style.

Recommended: Cheryl Unruh’s photos of this event on FlyoverPeople
